Hi Members,

Today is the day Inland Revenue re-opens, and if you are anything like me, you will be on tenterhooks, hoping you can file your GST returns, Pay Day filing returns, and do anything you need to do without a hitch...

April is typically the most crazy month of the year in the bookkeeping world and I know you have all been working super hard to try and get March GST returns filed prior to the closedown, as well as deal with pay day filing issues, prepare EOY packs and manage a bunch of software conversions on behalf of your clients. And for those of taking on more staff (I know there are quite a few of you) managing the recruitment processes, testing and training of new team members.

Whew! Its been a big month so far hasn't it? I am looking forward to May when I may just get to take a breath. Which leads me into looking after you while all this busy-ness is going on. How have you been looking after yourself lately? Are you taking regular breaks? Breathing deeply? Getting up and getting some movement in your limbs and joints? They get ‘stuck’ when we are sitting constantly in the same position most of the day, and the fascia holding our muscles to our bones gets tight and dehydrated. Try and ensure you get up and move around at least once every hour, and don't forget to keep your fluids up (water that is). The flu season has started (hubby is down with it as well as my youngest) so ensure you don't get a chill with this changeable autumn weather.

Roadshows

We held the first two of our roadshows and I would like to acknowledge Amie Lorenzen, Stephanie Crawford and Julie Russell for hosting the first of those on the North Shore in Auckland on 28th March. Jo Mankelow, Zharna Welch and Tracey Egarr hosted the second roadshow in South Auckland 16th April (big thank you to Skills for the venue). Referral program

As an association who relies on memberships to continue operating, we constantly are striving to increase our membership numbers. Who do you know who would benefit from a membership with ICNZB? The date and venue for #Bookkeepcon19 is locked in, have you registered? This will be taking place on 27th and 28th July 2019 and be held in the Garden City, Christchurch at the Chateau on the Park.
