We are excited to reveal a new logo!

Today, ICNZB have hit a significant milestone – 10 years in existence. As well as recognising the road we have taken to get to this point, we are excited to unveil a refreshed brand identity to lead us into the future.


 

A journey through time

From our humble beginnings in Christchurch 10 years ago our founding committee began with the sole mission: to provide support to bookkeeping professionals.  Bookkeeping was barely defined as a profession at this time in New Zealand and there was simply nowhere to go for support in a time of need.

While the focus was largely on support in the early days, our mission has since expanded to promoting bookkeeping as a true profession and an integral player in the growth of small to medium business.

Melanie Morris, Founding President of the Association, and current Certified Bookkeeper member explains the original concept of the logo: “Our initial brainstorming session for the logo played around with the ideas of ledgers and books.  For marketing print and social media, the ledgers were too detailed, so we went with books as they represented handwritten ledger of olden days.  To make it uniquely Kiwi we stylised the books in a silver fern pattern.  We chose green as our primary brand colour to symbolise the fresh colour of New Zealand ferns

Joining forces

The original logo was altered in 2016 to reflect our new trading name, Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers following the signing of a joint venture with ICB Global.  This version also included the ICB crest of arms.

The next chapter

As our professional profile has grown and evolved over the last 10 years, it felt like the right time for a refresh of our logo to reflect who we are today and to symbolize our dynamic future.

Proud as we are of our rich history and deep roots, we wanted to retain our logo’s core elements.

The image of the fern is now modernised but still encompasses the original concept of stacked books.  The drawing has been simplified for today’s modern printing requirement and squared to allow more flexibility across all mediums, and all components are able to be added or removed to suit the purpose at hand.

Our tagline has been updated to be more descriptive about why we exist – we are a membership organisation for bookkeepers by bookkeepers.

The new logo will start appearing soon

In the coming months we will be working to update our marketing literature and online presence with the new look branding. Our members will be issued with new membership badges to promote their association with New Zealand’s only bookkeeping association run by members, for members.

As a final note, we would like to acknowledge and thank Electric Turtle Design for helping make this vision come to life while retaining our core identity.
