Members have voted a new Executive Committee to continue to lead the Association through the next year
On Friday, 24 July 2020, the New Zealand Bookkeepers Association Incorporated (trading as the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers (“ICNZB”)) held their Annual General Meeting and selected the Associations new leadership team.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was unable to be held at our annual conference in Napier, so for the first time in the Associations history, our meeting was conducted virtually.
For a number of years, we have had consistent representation on our Executive Committee with stalwart members being elected. In 2020, we have seen a significant change in our leadership team with some long-standing members stepping down to focus on their own business priorities.
Departing from the Committee this year were Lisa Martin (9 years), Julie Russell (7 years), Sue Inkersell (5 years), Joanne Mankelow (3 years) and Zharna Welch (2 years). As you can see, between these 5 individuals they have dedicated a great number of years to helping the Association grow and develop into the successful support organisation it is today. On behalf of the members, we thank them for their dedicated service during their tenure.
In recognition of the long serving period of service on the Executive Committee, attendees of the Annual General Meeting moved to award Lisa Martin and Julie Russell with the honour of life membership to the organisation.
Standing for re-election were Di Crawford-Errington, Chris Mercer and Linda Klok.
We received nominations from a number of committed ICNZB members who were prepared to step up and fill the newly vacant roles, and to take on the challenge of steering ICNZB forward into its next phase.
The membership voted for and elected the following members to represent Executive Committee for 2020/21:
- President: Di Crawford-Errington
- Vice President: Chris Mercer
- Treasurer: Lily Sha
- Secretary: Rosey Tecklenburg
- Ordinary members: Irene Bennetts, Linda Klok, Bronwyn Gregory, Donna King and Samantha Bell
These members bring a range of skills and experience, as well as a passion for the profession of bookkeeping and a desire to actively contribute to the organisation and industry. We look forward to having them on board and working with them over the next 12 months.
